Pradeep’s research spans molecular materials, surfaces, and interfacial phenomena, with far-reaching implications for environmental sustainability, affordable clean water, and ultrasensitive detection technologies. He has developed advanced materials that enable scalable drinking-water purification, technologies that are deployed across India and have provided safe water access to millions. His recent discoveries offer significant promise for addressing global challenges, particularly in the developing world. Alongside translational innovations, his fundamental research explores atomically precise clusters, microdroplet chemistry, and the chemistry of ice. He has developed unique instrumentation to investigate ultrathin ice films and molecular surfaces, enabling new insights into interfacial processes under extreme and environmentally relevant conditions.
